Trifecta

The Bay Bridge, downtown and the Golden Gate. It's very rare to get this kind of visibility in San Francisco!

Nikon D90, Adobe Lightroom.

Thanks very much Luigizzle! The D90 is one heck of a camera. In fact, most of the pics that have made it on this site are with the D90 (one was even with a Canon G10!). If you are interested, there is another Bay Bridge pic here taken on the same shoot (minus the sunset): http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/details/2428/the_intersection.html

I've since moved on to the D7000 for the resolution and speed. Even though I like the D7000, I still like the noise grain better on the D90.

This is without doubt the best image I've seen on Interfacelift. The colours, lighting and exposure are all spot on!

The only thing I could hope for is a higher resolution!

Thanks for all the feedback! Out of my collection, this is one of my personal favorites. I'm glad others enjoy it.

I wish I had a higher resolution also, blurFX! Fortunately, I only made very small crops so the detail is retained.

Great shot ! Maybe you could give some advice to D90 user (as I am), and give some details about exif of the photo ?

Thanks ;)

Thanks, Othocar!

jujusous3: It was at 20mm (narrower than I thought!), f4.5, 1/1250/s speed (to freeze the water and because I didn't have tripod), and iso400. At the time, I didn't know much about cameras. If I had to do it over, I would have used a f10 or so, reduced to iso200 and use a tripod.

You have quite a few good pieces on here and this is in my top five from you. Nothing to improve that I can see except the yellow on the horizon seems a little blown out losing a tiny bit of detail but it could actually have looked exactly like that because I don't see too much post-processing as far as saturation goes in this. Also It doesn't change the fact this is just a beautiful shot of a rather ugly bridge only a mother (or engineer) could love. :P

Thanks, as always, for the insightful comment Daddy_Gemini! I always look forward to your commentary and constructive criticism (seriously!).

I'm glad you like how it turned out. In the end, I spent a lot of time doing as little post processing as possible. I wanted it to look like it did in real life. All in all, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, but it took a few years to make it worth a submission :)

I so rarely comment, I more of a silent admirer but this one deserses some positive feedback as im a D90 user aswell and its rarely that people produce such outstanding shots with affordable equipment on this site. This one will stay a wallpaper for a while

Thanks so much, Luigizzle! Yes, the D90 is an amazing camera. If you haven't already gotten one, I highly recommend the 35mm 1.8 prime to go with it. It's one of the best values I've found. Enjoy the wallpaper!
