Sunset Departure

December 1st, 2011

A magnificent autumn sunset slowly evolves in different hues as we are awaiting boarding flight Air Canada 844 from Calgary to Frankfurt. You can see Calgary downtown in the background behind our Boeing 767. This photo is made of 3 exposures tone-mapped in Photomatix Pro 4.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM. Developed in Adobe Lightroom 3 with tone-mapping in Photomatix Pro 4 and sharpening in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

I love this shot. I'm surprised security didn't give you a hard time for taking pictures from so close to the gate.

I don't think I would change anything. The comp is awesome, the colors are great and the clarity is right on point. Great shot!

@dannyandaluzphotography : in Canada we are much more chilled... literally ;-)
I never had an issue with taking photo in an airport, as long as you play by the rules. Filming in other hand, is much more sensitive.
Thank you for you comment!
