Shot for a student project/experiment at the University of Saskatchewan. This image is from the series "Failing the Rorschach Test". Very nice picture, I too just bought a Nikon D3100 and this camera is amazing for the price!

I must say this picture definitely comes as a different cut off the block, compared to most of the other pictures on this site. However, that would be the very reason why I would use this on my background. It's a little too bright for my liking, but good picture nonetheless.

I just registered so I could comment haha. I find this image breathtaking, like an overcoming emotion. More than that I love how unusual and unknown the picture looksÂ… at least form the diminutive thumbnail.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I noticed that the majority of the wallpapers lately had been nature or landscape, and since I've been coming to this site a few years I finally decided to give back to the community with an original creation. One of my goals in this project was to let interpretation be entirely up to the viewer, I'm glad that it can mean so much to you. @MarkAJ311 the D3100 is a fantastic starter camera, I've had nothing but smooth sailing since day one. Just goes to show that you don't need thousands of dollars for quality.

I've got a few more images from this series, let me know if you would like me to upload some.

This image is by far the best I've seen in a while. It has that "je-ne-sais-quoi" that make you look at it for hours. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it is up to us, the viewers, to interpret it.
