Light Blue Night

June 23rd, 2012

If someone blindfolded me and took me here I would have never guessed I was in Norway. Some beaches here on Norway's coast look more like Hawaii or Thailand. Crystal clear waters and clean white sand make it look like a dream. Taken on Grotlesanden, Norway.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, Adobe Photoshop CS5.

At first when I saw this I was like "Yes! The colors are amazing, especially the blues!" After examining the picture further I found out that they did some color correcting on it and it came out horrible! I notice a lot of people make this mistake all the time. Easy way to tell if they did some sort correcting to an image is the extremely obvious white/light glow around the black hill/mountains.

You are actually wrong. The bright light above the edge of the mountain was there in the original photo but might have been slightly exaggerated when increasing the contrast. However, the colors are more or less the same as they were irl.

Funny you should say that this looks more like Thailand than Norway. I would have to agree. This actually reminds me of a small beach I spent the day at on Phuket, minus the tropical vegetation and touristization. Extremely ethereal colors.
