@ Mark.
Without high dynamic range imaging the detail in the rock wall faces in shadow would not be seen, so I think the image is OK.
What can be overdone is called 'tone mapping'. In this image the saturation is a tad high. For correct HDRI is to make sure that
the number of exposures needed entirely depends on the dynamic range of the scene. Without doing any metering, you can be certain to have captured all the dynamic range, if:
A. Your least exposed shot managed to capture the highlights without blowing them.
B. Your most exposed shot displayed a good exposure in the deep shadows so you will be able to lift them without noise appearing.
Between shots A and B, do shots 2EV apart, and that's it.

Well... doesnt matter. This image to me is very unpleasing. I dont really care about tome mapping being overdone... I don't care if your highlights are blown abd your deep shadows are in good exposure. Its still a very unpleasing photo... wallpaper or matted print.

Well I love this photo. It's very specatular, and the HDR really shows off the rock face. You can almost smell the water!
There are some funny light and dark sections, but nothing that ruins the photo. It looks really good on my desktop, so thank you, and great job!

HDR isn't the only way this scene could have been taken. HDR can sometimes be overrated... In this instance, its over done. ND filters could have added much more to the scene with the waterfalls.
