Steel wool in the tunnel

December 11th, 2013

This is my first try photographing with steel wool. I really like this light. The photo was taken inside a croncrete tunnel.

Post-production in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2.

Nikon D7000, Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM.

I love the location! I've played around with "steel wool fireworks" quite a bit and the photos always turn out amazing. Another really cool idea is try spinning the steel wool over your head. It creates a neat "dome" effect. Great job on this.

I cant get enough of this image. Really powerful. It really speaks to me for some reason. The concrete tunnel is beautiful, especially the concrete step on the left side that gives it a little accent to the picture.

I just wanted you to know that I've had this on my laptop for a while and I can't even tell you how many comments I've heard about how cool this picture is! I love it because it's got a beautiful harshness that is so different than a lot of the nature pictures that are typical on this site. Plus, it's just a cool picture. :D
