Skogafoss - Raw Power

July 24th, 2015

Skógafoss is a waterfall situated on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline and is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 25 m (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft).

According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall but I couldn't find it...

I'm not going to list specific things as I like the whole wallpaper, except for one thing.

The vignette effect is way too strong in my opinion.

Stunning image! Best shot I've seen on here for a while. Shame there's no retina 5120 x 2880 size available though.

Dude, stop it. Are you kidding me? Such a ridiculously nice submission. My wallpaper on all three devices.

The only thought I have for improvement is just by taste in that I agree with Ephytose about the vignette effect. Otherwise, sublime.

Fantastic shot.
Are you able to provide it without any effects? I like photos as natural as possible.

This one has depth for sure.. mysterious and stunning. Loving all of your works, many thanks, keep it up.

Can you, by any chance, share how do you capture those light rays coming from between the clouds? I've been trying to take a shot of that effect for quite some time but the results were frustrating.. Usually i can see the rays very clear with my eyes but on the photo they are just indistinguishable.
