By jj420
August 14th, 2007
This was taken on the shore of Lake Winnipeg at about 4:30 in the morning. An epic storm had just finished going through and had worked its way across the lake by this time. If this picture doesn't get accepted I give up on ever trying to submit here again :

Aqueous

Water, its the stuff of life.
The ice terrain was rendered with subsurface scattering, processor intensive but well worth it. With global radiosity for added realism. The planets maps were done in Photoshop and rendered within the same scene in Max. The shaded lower half of the planet is actually picking up light from the terrain because of where it was placed in the scene.
Cray CX1, Adobe Photoshop CS, Autodesk 3DsMax.
When The Road Met The Sky
May 6th, 2010
Driving back from a great sky trip in Fernie, British Columbia, the sky opened up to let its blue color through. I just had to stop and lay down on my belly to quickly snap this shot as a car down the highway 22 was approaching. It was peaceful moment.

Yellowstone Sunset
By jondraperr
August 14th, 2010
While sitting in a line for two hours waiting on buffalo to cross the street in front of us, the Sun set behind the car over a beautiful river, creating a gorgeous scene that I tried to capture as well as I could. Hope you enjoy!
Taken in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. August of 2010.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon 20-35mm 2.8L.

Creature of the Night
By Dominic Kamp
February 5th, 2011
I found this scary piece of driftwood on the beach today. Doesn't it look like some alien creature with two hooves, horns and a tail?
Nikon D700, Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED, f/2.8, ISO 400, 30 second exposure.
