Sunset on Fire
By repomonkey
November 13th, 2011
Went out to get a carton of milk and noticed that the sunset was looking interesting, so I diverted to the nearby Shoalhaven river to see if I could get any interesting shots. The tide was high and I had to wade out into the water waist-high (shorts got a bit damp) with my tripod to get a clear shot of the river. The sunset turned spectacular pretty quickly and shortly before it disappeared, a lone pelican glided into view. In the background are thousands of roosting seabirds just behind the local oyster beds.
I took this shot with an ND4 filter on my Canon EOS 550D with the standard kit lens. Hope you like it as much as I do.
Bubblicular
By conduit
November 13th, 2011
Herein the description lies two full sentences about some soap bubbles against a window pane. The reasoning behind such a mundane capture was sleep deprivation.
Some camera using some lens being held stable by a tripod thingy then pushed through the software hole with some mouseclicks. (Canon EOS Rebel T2i, 100mm macro, 055xprob + frotto rail, natural sunlight, Adobe Photoshop).
November Moon
By chickenwire
November 12th, 2011
A nearly full, waxing-gibbous phase of the Earth's moon. Shot on November 8th, 2011 from Hanover, New Hampshire.
Cable release and mirror lock-up mode to reduce camera shake. Live-view mode zoomed in 10x for focusing.
10-inch f/6.3 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (Meade LX200). Shot at 1600mm, f/6.3, 1/250 second, ISO 200 with a Nikon D700 at prime focus.
An Emerald Princess
November 12th, 2011
This feather was next to a wondow in my mothers house. It was lit by early morning sun making it glow this wonderful green and blue. I wanted to take something with me when I left that reminded me of my mom. This is what I took.
Nikon D90, AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G shot at f/1.8, sunlight to the left, minimally developed in Adobe Lightroom.
Monaco Twilight
By Crevisio
November 11th, 2011
Finally! After waiting for several weeks I finally got the chance to catch a clear twilight sunrise over Monaco. Getting up at 4.30am and then hiking uphill (steep!) for 1 hour straight wasn't easy, but totally worth it! Also check out the pics of the actual sunrise in my wallpaper section on my website. Enjoy!
5-exposure HDR.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM shot at f/11.
Cologne Cathedral
By uburoi
November 10th, 2011
A long shot I took last weekend during a photo excursion to Cologne, Germany. I took a different viewpoint than the other photographers so that the bridge wouldn't overlap the cathedral.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Manfrotto tripod, Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
Half Moon Bay
By Matt Hanson
November 10th, 2011
Taken in Half Moon Bay, California. I used a series of cheap ND and Graduated ND filters which gave the scene a magenta hue. After correcting the colors in Photoshop, I realized I liked it better the way it was.
Nikon D3100, Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR, ND filters, Adobe Photoshop CS5.

L.A. Sunset
By ruidiw
November 9th, 2011
I took this shot from Redondo Beach while waiting for a seat at a restaurant. The camera was balanced on a rock for the long exposure.
Olympus E-PL1 with 20mm f/1.7 lens.
Stonehenge
By retaze
November 9th, 2011
I took this shot during my London trip in October. We attended on one of the daily bus tours to Stonehenge and i created an HDR tone-mapped image out of three exposures (+1 ,0, -1). While restoring some saturation, the picture got this sepia touch. Finally i tried to retouch the people who are walking around Stonehenge. As i am a Photoshop beginner, please be gentle with this retouch.
Fujifilm X100, Adobe Lightroom, Photomatix, Adobe Photoshop.
All Saints' Day
By pixelfly

Just a lantern at a local cemetery on All Saints' Day.
