Artist Point at Sunset
By Jeff Stys
December 28th, 2013
Lower Yellowstone Falls as seen from Artist Point at sunset on July 9th, 2013. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park is an incredible sight.
Artist Point was so by named Frank Jay Haynes who incorrectly this spot along the south rim as the location from which Thomas Moran sketched the lower falls in 1872. Those sketches were later determined to have been made from the north rim of the canyon, but the name stuck.
Shot as a vertical panorama at six levels of exposure (0.25 sec to 8 sec).

Bandon Tidescape
By Robert Bynum
December 22nd, 2013
The beach at Bandon, Oregon, USA. Taken the same evening as my "Face Rock" picture and another similar shot. The sunset did not materialize as I had hoped so I looked behind me at the coloring of the clouds and the tidepools. I love this picture.

Bandon Sea Stars

December 16th, 2013
Shot of one of the many cool rocks at the Bandon beach on the Oregon Coast, USA. Sunset was not that great but the colorful cluster of starfish caught my eye along with the emerald tide pool.

Bandon Face Rock
By Robert Bynum
December 8th, 2013
The locally famous "Face Rock" in Bandon, Oregon, USA. Lots of photographers flock to this small coastal town these days. You see ads for tours to Bandon in magazines such as Outdoor Photographer. This small town has changed much from the 1980s when I went to high school there.

Sunset of the Gods
By isaacsloan
December 7th, 2013
I stepped outside of my house last weekend to an amazing sunset during a thunderstorm. I grabbed my gear and ran up on a hill (most of the lightning was in the distance), set my camera on a tripod and focused on the storm just as it started raining on me. I quickly set my shutter speed to 1/3 of a second so as to increase my chances of catching lightning and set my intervalometer to take a shot every second
I spent the next 3 minutes holding my shirt over my camera to protect it from the rain. I think it was worth it.
