I took a road trip last summer from Atlanta, Georgia to Anchorage, Alaska. This picture was taken in Yukon, Canada, several hours away from the border of northeast Alaska at a place called Kluane Lake. It is located on Alaska Hwy 1.
I drove back down this road three months later at the beginning of Fall and it was a completely different scene. Most of the trees were bare--and the water had large waves coming from across the bay. Still beautiful, but not as breathtaking as in the Summer.

I have been waiting for this green seaweed to grow again on some of these rocks in the tidal zone. It dies back in the summer and is brightest right about now. Now I just have to wait for a great sunset and the right tide at the same time.

This hill is called Konttainen and it is one of the most famous hills in Ruka. That fabulous northern "blue moment" light shows best in December when there is only one to two hours of daylight per day

Monaco sunrise taken from a cliff above the Principality
This 180-degree panorama was shot from just above the cliff rocks, creating a unique point of view and composition, highlighting the rocky surface in the foreground

The forbidden city is a very gorgeous attraction, and this is one of its iconic corner building on the north west corner.
Taken during my trip to Beijing during the Summer of 2012.

A vertical sea cave on the Oregon Coast where the water is blown out and sucked back in with the waves near high tide. Can be a very dangerous spot and I'm sure many cameras have been lost as the volume of water that comes out of this hole can be unpredictable and you will be waist deep before you know it. I would imagine getting pulled into this hole in rough sea conditions would be fatal.
