A little bit of trespassing led me to the Rose Valley Reservoir in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada which is still largely frozen-over (though not traversable). Then it was just a matter of waiting for the Sun to set.

Lake Ohau is a glacial lake in the Mackenzie Basin of New Zealand's South Island. When I arrived at the lake, the last beams of sunlight shed across the mountain range and I had only minutes to take these photos. The strong winds in this area didn't really help. This is a photo of the old district of Ny havn (new harbour) in Copenhagen. It's lined by 17th and early 18th century colourful townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants.

White Sands is a photographer's dream. There are so many different shapes and shadows to use and it's fun trying to find the right layering and yucca plants to make a compelling image. The dark shadows two hours or so before sunset help define the dunes against all the white sand.

This was taken on a warm spring night at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Oregon. I had the angle in mind a few nights ago while driving by the farm, and while shooting I noticed the northern star coinsidently happened to be dead center in the frame. Poor scouting on my part, but happy accident!
