Hold Still

July 17th, 2018
This was taken on a warm spring night at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Oregon. I had the angle in mind a few nights ago while driving by the farm, and while shooting I noticed the northern star coinsidently happened to be dead center in the frame. Poor scouting on my part, but happy accident!

Painted Plains

April 21st, 2015
On Wednesday I spent 14 hours and drove around 700 miles chasing storms through Kansas and Oklahoma. The "cap" prevented many of the storms from producing much, but we ended the night with a breathtaking sunset that lasted over an hour! What a sight! This is a photo I took near Enid, Oklahoma while we were enjoying the show.
Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Photoshop CC.
Photo Settings: 11mm, f/4, 1/50 second, ISO 100.
The Birthplace of Rivendell
By Dominic Kamp
November 29th, 2016
It is said that Tolkien travelled through the landscape of Switzerland to the Lauterbrunnen Valley, a deep valley that many people now believe was the direct inspiration for the valley of Rivendell, a place instrumental to events both in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
The name Rivendell itself means "Deeply Cloven Valley" and the Lauterbrunnen, with its steep sides and many waterfalls (72 to be exact), certainly fits this description, with the mountains of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau lying beyond.

Glacier Trifecta
By DennisonLim
August 17th, 2017
Red and green aurora, Milky Way, and a passing meteor in a single composition. Taken Memorial Day weekend at Glacier National Park before Going To The Sun Road was even open. We drove the long way around in the middle of the night from Apgar to the east St. Mary entrance just to catch the Milky Way on St. Mary Lake. We were incredibly fortunate that evening.
