February 22nd, 2014
Downtown Vancouver under a burning full moon as it was rising, shortly after dusk. Taken from Jericho Beach in Vancouver, February 2014.
This is a combination of one underexposed shot to capture the moon and one long exposure shot for the rest of the scene. I think the outcome captures the magical feel of the actual scene to a good extent.

5 exposure HDR. Taken from the new walkway in Chapala, Mexico. I was in Mexico last week for a one week vacation. The weather was colder than normal and it rained several days, but those clouds made for wonderful sunsets. Enjoy all! Thanks for voting!!!

Although it was back in 2008 when I visited the Rockefeller Center the last time, it felt like yesterday. I noticed though that the skyline had changed quite a bit. The building in the front center (between 46th & 47th streets) must have popped up out of the ground, as it's not even in Google Maps. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful day and at last, I could experience how Rockefeller enjoyed a sunny day's ending.

This photo was taken about two weeks ago from "Riserva Naturale dei Calanchi di Atri" in Abruzzo, Italy. This particular portion of the territory is known for a very impressive rock formation where you can see particular "calanghi" thousands of years old.

ESO/J. Emerson/VISTA.
Acknowledgment: Cambridge Astronomical Survey Unit
This wide-field view of the Orion Nebula (Messier 42), lying about 1350 light-years from Earth, was taken with the VISTA infrared survey telescope at ESO's Paranal Observatory in Chile. The new telescope's huge field of view allows the whole nebula and its surroundings to be imaged in a single picture and its infrared vision also means that it can peer deep into the normally hidden dusty regions and reveal the curious antics of the very active young stars buried there. This image was created from images taken through Z, J and Ks filters in the near-infrared part of the spectrum. The exposure times were ten minutes per filter. The image covers a region of sky about one degree by 1.5 degrees.

Saw the storm system rolling in and went for a small hike to capture the storm rolling to our East. It was definitely worth it.
