Your World

This park is located in Thornton, Colorado and is definitely one of the coolest parks I've been to. The view is amazing, it completely surrounds you, looking also out towards Denver and DIA. To me, this photo captures the essence of Colorado in the Summer - green grass, blue sky, sunshine, and peace.

Beautiful Rhode Island
December 6th, 2011
Hi Guys. This particular spot is from Beavertail State Park in Jamestown. It's all rocks with no beach. Dangerous to be on, but beautiful to look at! Slippery rocks! Thanks for looking! Danny.

Ever wonder why they're blue? Deception, really. Glacial ice goes through hundreds and thousands of years of freezing and compression. This compression causes air to remove itself from the ice. Air bubbles create a scattering effect when light passes through it. When the ice is devoid of these air bubbles, light may pass through undisturbed, and as light passes, all the colors of the spectrum, save blue, are effectively absorbed. This creates the illusion that the ice is blue. Another "cool" thing is that this ice melts six times slower than that of freezer box ice. Now, throw that in your rum and coke...

The Grand Prismatic Spring
By Jeff Stys
July 14th, 2013
The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world.
The vivid colors in the spring are the result of pigmented bacteria in the microbial mats that grow around the edges of the mineral-rich water. The bacteria produce colors ranging from green to red; the amount of color in the microbial mats depends on the ratio of chlorophyll to carotenoids and on the temperature of the water which favors one bacterium over another. In the summer, the mats tend to be orange and red, whereas in the winter the mats are usually dark green. The center of the pool is sterile due to extreme heat.
The deep blue color of the water in the center of the pool results from the intrinsic blue color of water, itself the result of water's selective absorption of red wavelengths of visible light. Though this effect is responsible for making all large bodies of water blue, it is particularly intense in Grand Prismatic Spring because of the high purity and depth of the water in the middle of the spring.
The spring is approximately 250 by 300 feet (80 by 90 m) in size and is 160 feet (50 m) deep. The spring discharges an estimated 560 US gallons (2,100 L) of 160 F (70 C) water per minute.

Taken in January 2013 at Sunset Bay in Coos Bay Oregon, USA. I had to hike out at low tide and set up on the rocks. Waited for the Sun to drop to the crevice created by two rock formations.
No post processing. Just cropped in Canon OEM software.

The Golden Fields of May
By Luziferian
June 3rd, 2012
There are a lot of rape fields in Northern Germany each May. Some days ago I took a trip by bike through Kiel's surroundings. It was a nice sunny day and I decided to take my Camera with me. It was a good decision I think.
