Aurora Borealis

January 25th, 2010

The Sun suddenly decided it was time again to throw some decent flares at us after a 2 year long pause. So many nights wasted on aurora-hunting up until this glorious night of spellbinding display of light! Picture was taken very close to my home in Reykjavik, Iceland.

HDR, sorry about that but the sky was worth it. The orange cloud lasted only 2min, then it was a weird blue again. The sky behaves oddly up there. Iceland is such a beautiful place.

Creation Knows No Boundaries

September 29th, 2010

This shot was taken on Iceland, this summer in Landmannalaugar. As we drove our Jeep further and further in to the mainland.... something beautiful uncovered. Looking at this site made me realize man doesn't control as much as they like to think. Creation is truly beautiful!

Skogafoss - Raw Power

July 24th, 2015

Skógafoss is a waterfall situated on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline and is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 25 m (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft).

According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall but I couldn't find it...

On Iceland's Ring Road

June 12th, 2014

Iceland's Ring Road is a national road in Iceland that runs around the island and connects most of the inhabited parts of the country. The total length of the road is 1,332 kilometres (828 miles). Some of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland, such as the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, are also on or near the Ring Road.

The Black-Pebble Beach of Reynisfjara

February 20th, 2015

Far from palms, exotic drinks and sunbeds, Reynisfjara in Vík, Iceland features the most beautiful black-sand beach. Windy conditions and absolutely no sunbathing.

Right on the beach you'll find the mountain Reynisfjall with a majestic basalt playground, made specifically, by nature, for humans to risk their lives jumping or puffins to risk their offspring nesting.

This place is like no other, but despite the cold winds, this is by far my all-time favorite beach.

Icelandic Road

September 21st, 2014

Shot this photo last February near Skaftafell, Iceland. All roads in Iceland are so tempting that they want to make you a free wanderer.

Aldeyjarfoss

June 23rd, 2015

This is Aldeyjarfoss. Located 40 kilometers into the highlands from the Ring Road, Aldeyjarfoss is situated in a lava field that formed over 9,000 years ago. The river's source is Vatnajökull's glacial runoff, while its incredible basalt columns resembles that of its smaller (and more widely known) counterpart, Svartifoss. Clearly, getting here is a testament to taking the least ventured path, as it was impossible to find another soul for miles upon miles.
