Very nice, any filter or HDR used?

Photomatix is HDR software, so I'd say yes. Nice photo.

This is what I hate about a lot of HDRs, it makes people lose control of the saturation slider. That green is way over-the-top. I think a bit more subtlety would go a long way.

It's an absolutely lovely picture, but the white band at the bottom is thoroughly irritating. Can't think why it's there - I can only assume it's either a mistake or wasn't noticed on a Windows based PC because of the task bar. Can we have a version without it please? Other than that it's a great picture.

I absolutely love the atmosphere, and there's a certain cool eerie feeling to the landscape.
That being said, the green, as others said, is a bit over-saturated.

I use the 1920 x 1200 version.. It's got a white strip at the bottom of the image.. I fixed mine but I thought I should mention it.

Nice and peaceful... :)

I tried fixing the white strip on the bottom but when I save the changes the colors are not like the original, errr..

Good example of over processed HDR. Sorry to be critical but it reminds me of 'Pandora' not real life.

Thanks for voting this one on guys! I added this a while ago.. haha..!!!!
Thanks for the comments about the green, I somewhat agree, however it is more toned down the others wallpapers I have added here.
I agree that it looks almost unreal, and I like that. To me, I think we remember images that way, almost like when we look at cartoon image of someone we know, it's slightly exhadurated, the eyes or nose or ears.. so to invoke feeling or emotion that was there when I took it, the image almost always must be a little over done.

I see the comments about the green in regard to HDR and over-saturation and I usually would agree, but for whatever reason this is scratching me just were I itch. I love this shot.

Here we go again. Why is it that most critics on IFL insist that photographs are to be absolutely realistic and nothing more? What ever happened to artistry? It's been said time and time again that IFL is a wallpaper site, and not a photography site, so why is that people want to see only perfect photographs?

I think, as paulevermore put it, that this definitely has the "Pandora" feel to it, and I love it! What would have been another run-of-the-mill photograph of a beautiful landscape has now added fresh perspective and cause for interpretation!

I agree that too much HDR and saturation can ruin a good photograph, but is it possible that this is the artist's intent? Would you tell Picasso that "it just doesn't look real?"

This is a work of art; all of the submissions here are. I probably speak alone here, but I say that the perfect photograph is just one type of submission on IFL. I, for one, want to see more work done on the originals to add bit of flare and artistry to them. As for those who think that saturation is "way over the top," well, I say that we need to spice things up a bit. It doesn't look real? That's the way I like it. Allow me to live in fantasy land, then.

Just my two cents. Great job on this one!

firefly.serenity: Couldn't agree more there. Thanks for having said that.

I think it's awesome and I love it. I don't think it's "way over-the-top". There are HDR images that are WAY more "way over-the-top". It's simply a matter of personal preference - there's no right or wrong here.

alx2056, thank you for sharing.

'photograph is just one type of submission on IFL'. No, firefly.serenity, you do not speak alone. As I said in another post too, trying to atone for a previous post, we must understand the artist's vision and, if it is not possible, at least wait for a future image that you like, or if you have not done so, back in the pages earlier and find a picture that meets your expectations. I admit like most of the pictures look 'real', but does not admit to myself wanting to change what the artist does, either to attend to my own ego by showing that dominates 'photographic rules' (I know, this happens with the minority). There are no rules, just open space to display and share the new.

Much love to you all.

I think that the foreground details have suffered as a result of the HDR process too, it looks quite pixelated to me.

@ Mikej:
I thought so as well. The bg looks fine but the foreground just destroys the picture for me. Furthermore, I really hate Photomatix. It gives all HDR pictures this dull, grey-silverish look which simply looks atrocious to me! Use Dynamic Photo HDR for Christ's sake!
